QIGONG?

Medical Qigong is the oldest modality of Chinese Medicine, from which the other treatment modalities evolved. It recognizes the root causes of symptoms or disease and treats the patient as a whole.

All living bodies generate an external field of energy called the Wei Qi field which translates as "protective energy". Disruptions in the electromagnetic energy of the body occur throughout our lifetime as a result of poor diet, sedentary lifestyle, injuries, surgery, suppression of emotions, and aging.

The primary goal of Qigong is to purge toxic emotions from within the body's tissues, eliminate energetic stagnations, as well as strengthen and balance the internal organs and energetic fields. It uses breathing techniques, gentle movement, and meditation to cleanse, strengthen and circulate Qi in the body. Leading to better health, vitality and a tranquil state of mind.

It address the causes of human illness including diet, balanced lifestyle, movement, meditation and skillful resolution of severe, chronic or even inherited physical and emotional imbalances.

Medical Qigong offers patients a safe and effective way to rid themselves of toxic pathogens and years of painful emotions that otherwise, can cause mental and physical illness.  â€‹

TREATMENT

Medical qigong therapy and prescriptions can be used to treat people for numerous ailments ranging from mild to chronic. It can help to reduce or eliminate side effects from radiation and chemotherapy for cancer patients. And is considered to be effective in improving the effects of many chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, allergy, asthma, arthritis, degenerative disk disease, cancer, depression, anxiety and addiction. It can also help in treating cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson disease and post-stroke syndrome. Qigong works by improving the practitioners’ immunity response, increasing a person’s self-healing and self-recovery capabilities and enhancing one’s self-regeneration potential.

A Medical Qigong session is approximately an hour.  Initial sessions are usually longer.  At this time the practitioner makes observations to determine the physical, emotional, and energetic condition of the client.  Working in coordination with your physician, acupuncturist, or other health care providers, the practitioner will formulate exercises and meditations designed to address your specific needs.

During a Medical Qigong treatment, the patient generally lies or sits on the treatment table, fully clothed, while  specific therapeutic passes are used to increase energy, disperse stagnation, or reduce pain.  This redirects, cleanses, and restores the vital energy of the patient based on the principles of Chinese Medicine.

Often the client can feel certain things happening in the body, both on a physical and emotional level. They may also feel varying sensations as the Qi moves, such as warmth, tingling, coolness, vibration, and sometimes twitching as the stagnant energy releases.  Sometimes, the patient simply gets a sense of deep relaxation and well-being. The experience of the treatment will be different for each patient. There are no invasive techniques used, and little to no physical touching is required.   By holding the hands a few inches above the client's body the health and balance of Qi can be assessed.

After the treatment, the client will be given Qigong prescription exercises to assist in their ongoing healing. These Medical Qigong exercises and meditations are tailored specifically to the clients, similar to an acupuncturist prescribing healing herbs or a medical doctor giving a pharmaceutical prescription.

Qigong treatments can be received in person or long distance.
